Every stay includes a fully stocked home with a generous selection of breakfast items to help you start your day right. Guests are welcome to prepare breakfast at their own pace, with all ingredients provided—many sourced from our favorite local bakers and small businesses.

Lunch is offered picnic‑style or buffet‑style depending on the day’s activities and location. Evenings feature comforting homestyle dinners made from cherished family recipes.

Most stays also include a special cookout night on the ranch—complete with a campfire, storytelling, and live music from a local artist. This weather‑dependent experience is always a guest favorite and a true taste of Montana evenings under the stars.

The Fenton House

Step into our charming historic home, filled with original heirlooms and family history dating back to the mid‑1800s. Thoughtfully preserved and comfortably appointed, the Fenton House offers a unique blend of heritage, warmth, and modern convenience.

Upstairs, you’ll find three cozy bedrooms:

  • A spacious primary room with a king‑sized bed and an additional single bed

  • Two inviting guest rooms, each featuring a full‑sized bed

  • Comfortably sleeps 6 adults, if extra beds are required for children, we have more options available. 

Downstairs, the home opens into a comfortable sitting room, a welcoming living room, a full bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen—perfect for shared meals, morning coffee, or unwinding after a day on the ranch.

Step outside onto the large deck overlooking a serene year‑round creek and natural habitat. It’s an ideal spot to relax, reconnect with nature, and enjoy the peaceful rhythm of the ranch.

The Fenton House sits directly along the banks of Mill Creek, a beautiful year‑round waterway that adds to the charm of your stay. During certain months, water levels can rise significantly. High water can create fast‑moving currents and slippery creek banks.

For your safety, we ask all guests to use caution near the creek. Children must be closely supervised at all times, as high water conditions can pose a serious risk.

We appreciate your care and attention while enjoying this natural feature of the property. In keeping with the history of the Fenton House location there is not a TV or Wi-Fi.

The Bunkhouse

Immerse yourself in hands‑on ranch life by day and unwind around the campfire each evening. The Bunk House is ideal for one to two guests seeking a more rustic, authentic stay—simple, cozy, and full of character.

This restored two‑room bunk house includes:

  • A comfortable room with a queen bed, a couch, and a simple kitchen area

  • An off‑grid bathroom, adding to the true Western experience

  • Comfortably sleeps 1 or 2 adults

Once used solely for storage for more than 50 years, the Bunk House was thoughtfully brought back to life by the owner of FGR, preserving its history while giving it new purpose.

If you want to feel like part of the crew, this is the perfect place to settle in. You’ll be surrounded by animals day and night, fully immersed in the rhythm of ranch living. Accommodates 1 to 2 guests.

Both the historic Fenton House and our rustic Bunkhouse are available for nightly rental on select dates.

These lodging‑only stays do not include guest services, activities, or meals, making them a great option for travelers who simply want a peaceful place to land in the Ruby Valley.

Rest & Relax Package

​Our Rest & Relax Package is the foundation of your stay at Fenton Guest Ranch. You’re welcome to keep things simple and peaceful or customize your experience with selections from our curated Add Ons Menu.

What’s Included

        •A cozy, quiet stay in the heart of the Ruby Valley

        •A stocked kitchen with breakfast foods provided for your entire stay

Fenton Guest Ranch Horsemanship Packages

From first‑time riders to seasoned hands, we meet you exactly where you are. These packages are based on a

5-day/4-night stay per person! Inquire with staff about pricing for children under the age of 13!

 

BEGINNER HORSEMANSHIP PACKAGE

Perfect for guests with little to no horse experience who want a relaxed, confidence‑building introduction to ranch life.

What’s Included

Day One – Learn the Basics

  • Meet your horse and learn to halter, brush, and tack up

  • Beginner horsemanship lessons in the round corral and arena

  • Picnic‑style lunch

  • Gentle afternoon ride to get comfortable in the saddle

Day Two – Build Confidence

  • Morning refresher and skill review

  • Easy afternoon trail ride on ranch property

Day Three – Stretch Your Skills

  • Two‑hour ride followed by lunch at the cookout area

  • Depending on comfort level (and how you’re walking), we’ll decide together whether you’re ready for a longer ride or if staying close to home is best

INTERMEDIATE HORSEMANSHIP PACKAGE

Designed for guests with previous horse experience who want to ride at a faster pace and explore more of the ranch.

What’s Included

Day One – Pairing & Tune‑Up

  • Meet your horse and review groundwork

  • Arena time to assess pace, control, and comfort

  • Short loop ride to warm up and get matched to the right horse

Day Two – Explore the Ranch

  • Trail ride through foothills and open country

  • Optional cattle checking depending on season

  • Afternoon free time or add‑on activities (hat decorating, yoga, photography)

Day Three – Ride Out

  • Longer ride across neighboring ranchland or scenic ridge lines

  • Lunch on the trail or at the cookout area

  • Optional faster‑paced sections depending on rider ability

  • Bunk House: $1,750 *

ADVANCED HORSEMANSHIP PACKAGE

For experienced riders who are comfortable at all gaits and want the full working‑cowboy experience.

Requirements

  • Prior riding experience

  • Video submission to confirm skill level (saddling, mounting, stopping, steering, trotting/lope)

What’s Included

Day One – Range Readiness

  • Meet your horse and saddle up

  • Quick arena assessment

  • Ride out to check cattle, fences, and water

Day Two – Working the Ranch

  • Team penning or sorting practice

  • Ride the range with the crew

  • Optional evening roping session

Day Three – Full Cowboy Day

  • Long ride across the ranch or into the hills

  • Hands‑on ranch tasks depending on season

  • Evening campfire or cookout dinner
